Allison and I got in my car this morning. As soon as I started it, the radio music came on pretty loud. Here’s how the conversation went:
Wife: Wow, you were rocking it out last night.
(I went out with friends for Shanahan’s 40th birthday).
Me: Yes, I guess I was.
Me: …wait a second… I was using your car last night.
Wife: Oh, you’re right.
Me: In fact, you were the last person who drove this car.
Wife: Hmmm… Oh, yeah… and I was thinking, “wow, he’s really going deaf”.
(of course now her interpretation of why someone would turn up the volume is completely different).
